Introduction:

The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why. — Mark Twain, American author, humorist, entrepreneur Successful people often have some pretty interesting stories about how they achieved their dreams, which should give you all the more reason to achieve yours. Here are eight success story quotes from the most inspirational businessmen and women out there.

1). Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.

John F. Kennedy was right when he said, Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm. In fact, success is never truly achieved without a number of failures along the way. This means it’s not just about achieving your goals – it’s also about getting back up after you fall down. So if you want to succeed, learn from past mistakes and don’t let them define who you are or hold you back from future success. The good thing about failure is that it brings us one step closer to success. It can be tempting to think that success comes easy, but there’s no such thing as an overnight success story. Just ask anyone who has been successful in their career: they will tell you that they failed more times than they succeeded before finally making it big. What makes these people different? That they refused to give up on their dreams even when faced with failure. They did not get discouraged by rejection; instead, they learned from every setback and moved forward until they found success. If you’re going through a rough patch at work or struggling to reach your personal goals, keep going! Remember that time flies by quickly and all things worth having take time; do not give up on yourself simply because things aren’t happening quickly enough for you. The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary. While some people seem to have everything come easily to them, others struggle endlessly trying to achieve their goals. But whether we like it or not, hard work always pays off. There’s no such thing as an overnight success story; just ask anyone who has made it big in their career—they will tell you that they worked harder than everyone else before reaching that point. A well-known saying says that nothing worthwhile comes easy, so why should you expect anything less than hard work to lead to success? As long as you put in enough effort into something, sooner or later it will pay off. And while life isn’t always fair, it certainly rewards those who put in consistent effort over time. Don’t believe me? Think about someone you know who works really hard yet doesn’t seem to make any progress. Now think about someone else who barely puts in any effort yet seems to enjoy instant success. Which person would you rather be? I know which one I would choose, and I bet you would too. How many years do you need to practice? Practice may not make perfect, but it does improve our skills dramatically. We can apply practice to any skill set we wish to master—it’s basically training our brain and body to execute certain tasks automatically (as opposed to consciously). However, there is no right amount of practice required for improving a skill; rather, how much practice you need depends on how skilled you already are in a particular area.

2). If you chase two rabbits, both will escape.

When you’re trying to achieve something, don’t let yourself get sidetracked. If you chase two rabbits, both will escape. It’s easy for your work and your personal life to become unbalanced when you try to do too much. Keep track of what’s most important—and make time for everything else. The most difficult thing is to take the first step. The biggest mistake people make in business is not making a decision; it’s taking no action at all. Just because you aren’t sure how to proceed doesn’t mean that nothing should happen; it just means that you need to think through things more carefully before proceeding. If you chase two rabbits, both will escape. This quote by Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu reminds us that we can never be truly happy if we allow ourselves to spread ourselves too thin. We often feel like we have so many different responsibilities that there isn’t enough time in our day to accomplish them all. What are some ways you could refocus on your priorities? What are some ways you could stop procrastinating? Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any one thing.: There’s an old saying: The race is not always to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, but that’s how the smart money bets. While we may wish otherwise, success does not always come easily or quickly. To achieve anything worthwhile, you must maintain a positive attitude. Even if times are tough now, remember that things can change with hard work and determination. We must always remember that failure happens only when we give up.: Failure happens only when we give up. That’s why it’s important to keep pushing forward even when times get tough. Remember that failure is not permanent as long as you learn from your mistakes and keep moving forward with determination. In addition to being a prolific writer, Ernest Hemingway was also an avid fisherman. He once said, There is no hunting like the hunting of man, and those who have hunted armed men long enough and liked it never really care for anything else thereafter. He understood that pursuing your passion requires focus and dedication. Once you find something you love doing, pursue it wholeheartedly! Pursuing multiple interests simultaneously rarely works out well. If you chase two rabbits, both will escape. Too often, people claim they want to start a new project but never actually follow through. Why? They lack focus and motivation, which they confuse with multitasking. For example, I know someone who wanted to write a book. She told me she had so many ideas, but she didn’t know which one to tackle first. Then, months later, she still hadn’t started writing. Her problem wasn’t lack of ideas; it was lack of focus. Focusing on several projects at once rarely leads to success.

3). You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

Aiming high isn’t always easy, but if you don’t make an effort to try your best and push yourself in the direction of your goals, you aren’t likely to be very successful. Failure is the great teacher, so if you miss a shot or two at success, don’t give up. Simply learn from your mistakes and aim higher next time! It’s not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.: There will always be challenges that stand between where you are now and where you want to go. The only way to overcome these obstacles is by keeping going, even when it seems like all hope is lost. Achieving success means pushing through every challenge that comes your way—no matter how big or small—and never giving up on your dreams. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.: How many times have we heard our favorite athletes say they believe they'll win? What makes them think they can succeed when their odds are stacked against them? Confidence doesn't come easily for everyone, but there's no better way to turn adversity into triumph than with unwavering belief in your abilities. When I was five years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down happy. They told me I didn't understand the assignment, and I told them they didn't understand life.<This part should talk about - When you stop chasing money – money starts chasing you : Money may not buy happiness, but having enough certainly helps. If you can dream it, you can do it.: Walt Disney said he believed if you can dream it, you can do it. This mantra has been repeated by countless others over the years, but its message still rings true today: If you set your mind to something and work hard toward achieving your goal, nothing is impossible. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Taking risks can lead to incredible rewards, but there’s also a chance you could fail miserably. But why let fear hold you back from trying new things? If someone else had taken action before you did, would they have gotten credit for your idea? No one wants to look back on their life and realize they missed out because they were too afraid to fail. <This part should talk about - Start Now!: One of the most common reasons people procrastinate is because they feel overwhelmed by all that needs to be done. As soon as you start working on your ideas, though, you begin taking steps toward accomplishing them. Every step forward takes you closer to where you want to be, and thinking positively gives your actions more momentum as well. Don’t wait until everything is perfect—start now!

4). Where there is a will, there is a way.

The most successful people are willing to do whatever it takes. When we see a quote like, Where there is a will, there is a way, it inspires us and helps create belief in our own ability. If you believe that you can achieve your dreams, then you will be able to find a way to make them happen. One of my favorite quotes from Napoleon Hill says: Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve This quote reminds me that if I have an idea for something I want to accomplish or create then I should never let anyone tell me that I can’t accomplish my goal because they don’t know what is possible for me. When I think about where there is a will, there is a way, one of my favorite examples comes to mind. A few years ago I had planned on competing in some powerlifting competitions at my local gym. A couple weeks before my first competition date, one of my good friends had injured his knee during practice at work and was not going to be able to compete with me at these competitions. After talking to him about how he felt he could get back into shape quickly and still compete, he told me that he didn’t think it would be worth trying to get back into shape just for one day. I told him that I thought we could train together for a couple weeks and still give each other support even though we wouldn’t be lifting together in competition. Later that week, I went to lift weights with my friend who had been injured. He told me that he wanted to start training again but wasn’t sure if he could get back into shape by our competition date. We decided that we would begin training together again and see how far we got over a month period of time. My friend started training hard every day and by our next competition date three weeks later, both of us were ready to compete! I love using quotes like Where there is a will, there is a way as motivation when I am facing obstacles. Overcoming obstacles and achieving goals doesn’t come easy but with persistence and dedication, anything is possible. Some days may be easier than others but as long as you keep pushing forward towards your goals you will eventually reach them.

5). There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.

It’s hard to argue with Michael Jordan when he says There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure. One of the most valuable life lessons he learned early on was how to bounce back from losses. From the very beginning of his basketball career, MJ was a winner. His freshman year in high school he led Laney High School in Wilmington, North Carolina to its first-ever state championship. For every season thereafter, his team either won or lost by a single point. So it wasn’t until college that he had an opportunity to learn how to lose. During his sophomore year at UNC Chapel Hill, Coach Dean Smith asked him to come off the bench behind another player who had been playing well up until that point. In response, Jordan started practicing harder than ever before and studying film—even though he didn’t start playing again for several weeks. When he finally did get back into the game, he scored 18 points and earned a standing ovation from his teammates for his effort. He never looked back after that moment; even years later as one of history’s greatest players, losing still made him uncomfortable—but not because of any fear of failing or embarrassment over past defeats. There are no secrets to success. The only way to do great work is to love what you do.: This advice comes from Steve Jobs, Apple cofounder and former CEO. It may seem obvious: If you don’t like your job, then you probably won’t be very good at it. But more importantly, if you don’t like your job then why would anyone else? The best way to succeed in anything is by doing something you love. A famous quote from Albert Einstein goes There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure. This statement sums up all three key ingredients to success. Preparation requires research and study so that you know everything about your subject matter before starting out. Hard work means putting in long hours, taking risks, thinking outside of the box, staying focused during periods of doubt and criticism...and simply working hard. Learning from failure means accepting setbacks and mistakes as part of the process. Remember that Thomas Edison failed 10,000 times before he invented the light bulb! All successful people have experienced defeat, but they also have an amazing ability to learn from their mistakes. These words from President John F. Kennedy can inspire you to persevere through difficult times. It’s easy to fall into despair when things aren’t going according to plan, but you need to keep pushing forward and realize that nothing worthwhile is achieved without hard work. Being able to push through difficulties and remain positive will help you overcome obstacles and make progress toward achieving your goals.

6). I'd rather be a fool who's happy than someone who's right all the time.

Many people believe that success is a result of being right all the time, but they couldn’t be more wrong. Successful people have failed so many times in their life because they weren’t afraid to fail. They had the confidence and strength to get back up and make a better choice the next time around. I’d rather be a fool who’s happy than someone who’s right all the time. I wouldn't trade my failures for anyone's successes! People don't follow you because of what you know; they follow you because of how you make them feel.: It’s easy to forget that everyone has a story. Even when we interact with strangers on a daily basis, it can be difficult to remember that there are real human beings behind every interaction. Sometimes we fall into patterns of behavior that alienate us from others or lead us to treat others poorly. To ensure that doesn't happen, ask yourself if your actions would leave you feeling fulfilled if someone else were doing them to you. This will remind you to always respect other people—even those whom you might not initially connect with. If your business isn’t growing, then either change something or accept defeat.: We often avoid making changes at work because we worry about rocking the boat. But while change can be scary, it’s also necessary. If you find yourself stagnating professionally, try asking yourself these questions: What am I doing differently now than I was six months ago? How does that compare to what my peers are doing? Am I still passionate about my career? Are there ways to improve upon my current situation? Never let someone tell you no who doesn't have the power to say yes.: One of our greatest fears as humans is rejection. As children, we learned very quickly that saying no hurts our feelings. As adults, we carry these feelings into our professional lives by assuming that everything depends on one person giving us permission to do something great. The truth is that you can do almost anything if you stop waiting for permission and start acting as though it already exists. If you keep doing what you've always done, you'll keep getting what you've always gotten.: Most of us like to think that our hard work will pay off in some way. And most of us like to think that we're good at what we do. So why aren't things working out? Because nothing happens until something moves.

7). It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.

Success does not happen overnight. Success comes after years of practice, commitment, and refining your skills and abilities. If you’re new to a business or career path, don’t expect immediate success. The one thing that most successful people have in common is that they did not stop when things were hard; they kept going. And in doing so, they achieved great success. Set small goals and celebrate every achievement as you move along on your journey. You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself.: No matter how many motivational quotes you read or how many classes you take, success ultimately depends on what you do with what you learn. Many businesses fail because their owners get stuck looking for shortcuts rather than putting in hard work to build their own knowledge base. It will come back to you if it is meant to be.: Don’t give up too easily. If something isn’t working out, try again—and again if necessary. As long as you keep moving forward and persevere through challenges, you will eventually reach your goal. Everyone has talent. What is rare is the courage to follow that talent to the dark place where it leads: Everyone has talent, but few are willing to develop and cultivate their talents over time. Some people are content just doing enough without pushing themselves beyond their comfort zone or challenging themselves beyond what they think they can achieve. Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.: A lot of times we let our fears dictate our actions. We might feel like we’re not good enough to pursue an opportunity or that we won’t succeed even if we try. But sometimes stepping outside our comfort zones and trying something new can lead us down paths we never thought possible—and allow us to make changes in our lives that otherwise would never have happened. If you want to accomplish something, you must become someone who accomplishes things.: One of the biggest reasons why people never accomplish their goals is because they constantly set them too high. They set these lofty expectations for themselves and then get discouraged when they inevitably fall short. Instead of setting big goals, focus on achieving smaller milestones along your way toward bigger ones. Success does not happen overnight. Success comes after years of practice, commitment, and refining your skills and abilities. If you’re new to a business or career path, don’t expect immediate success. The one thing that most successful people have in common is that they did not stop when things were hard; they kept going.

8). Change your thoughts and you change your world.

What you think about, you bring about. Success stories are full of people who have made great changes in their lives by thinking of themselves and their circumstances differently. They’ve changed their thoughts and thus changed their world. Change your thoughts and you change your world. Don’t limit yourself by having negative thoughts! If there’s something that you want but haven’t been able to achieve yet, start thinking differently about it. This can be done through affirmations or positive self-talk. We’re not going to lie: changing your mindset is hard work, but we promise it will be worth it in the end. Start making small changes now so that one day soon you’ll be a totally different person with a totally different life than what you have right now! Success doesn’t come overnight.: The truth is that success doesn’t happen overnight. In fact, most successful people worked extremely hard for years before they were able to achieve their goals. If you want something badly enough, don’t give up until you get it—even if it takes years! Be thankful for all that you have already achieved!: It’s easy to become ungrateful when things aren’t going our way, but remember: there are many things in your life right now that you should be grateful for. Think about all of your accomplishments so far; write them down if you need to. Now that you’ve taken some time to reflect on how much you’ve accomplished, take a moment to look at where you are today. Write down three things in your life that make you happy and grateful every single day. Then ask yourself why these three things make you happy (e.g., because of my loving family). Now take another look at where you started out; did those same three things make you happy then? Remember, nothing stays the same forever. As long as you keep moving forward and working toward your goals, you’ll eventually reach them—it just might take longer than expected. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and eventually you’ll get there! Make sure to celebrate along the way!: Celebrating milestones along your journey is an important part of keeping yourself motivated. Keep track of your progress to see how much you’ve accomplished so far. Even if you haven’t reached your goal yet, it won’t hurt to pat yourself on the back for all that you have already achieved. It will also help motivate you further along your path!
