Introduction
Anton Troianovski was born in the West Ukrainian town of Brody in 1890. He became involved in the labor movement at an early age, and eventually moved to Moscow where he worked as a journalist for several publications and newspapers. During this time, he was arrested multiple times and exiled from Russia until he was allowed to return in 1936. It was at this time that he joined the Communist Party and began working with the Soviet news agency TASS . He later received accolades and awards from both the Soviet Union and Ukraine before dying in Moscow in 1976 at the age of 86.

Anton Troianovski began his journalism career in 2001 as a summer intern at The Wall Street Journal. He later worked as a reporter for the Journal in New York, Brussels and Moscow. In 2006, he joined The Washington Post as a staff writer, where he covered the 2008 financial crisis, among other things. He won a Pulitzer Prize in 2018 for his work on Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. He was a founding member of the White House truth squad which fact-checked President Donald Trump's false claims about taxes and economic growth during the campaign.
